Internal Meeting in Progress - The Email That Ruined My Peace - Part 2
Time: 10:32 AM
Location: Laptop Screen
Status: Calm… for 3 seconds
New Email Notification Appears
Brain: Don’t panic. It’s probably nothing.
Heart: What if it changes our life?
Body: What if we ignore it and go lie down?
Subject: “Quick Update Needed”
Brain: This is not quick. Nothing titled “quick” is ever quick.
Heart: Why does this feel personal?
Body: I already feel tired reading just the subject.
Email Opened.
Manager: “Can you share the status of the task?”
System Overreaction Activated
Brain: STATUS?? What status?? Do we have status??
Heart: They sound disappointed. I can feel it.
Body: Close laptop. Move to another city. Start new life.
Brain: Okay. Think logically. We did… something yesterday. Right?
Heart: We opened the file. That counts emotionally.
Body: I remember sitting. Does that help?
Brain: We need to reply. Professionally. Calm. Smart.
Heart: Add a smiley. Show warmth.
Brain: This is not a birthday message.
Typing Begins…
“Hi,
I have started working on it…”
Brain: Technically true.
Heart: Sounds cold. Add “Hope you are doing well.”
Brain: That’s fake.
Body: Add “Sorry for delay” and end suffering.
Typing Continues…
“Hi,
I have started working on it and will share an update soon.”
Brain: “Soon” is vague. Dangerous word.
Heart: It gives hope.
Body: It gives time to rest.
Hovering over SEND button
Brain: Wait. Read again. What if there’s a typo?
Heart: What if they think we’re not good enough?
Body: What if we just… don’t send?
Brain (re-reading for the 7th time):
Looks fine. Maybe change “started” to “initiated.” Sounds smarter.
Heart: Yes. More professional. More impressive.
Body: More typing. More pain.
Final Email:
“Hi,
I have initiated work on this and will share an update soon.”
SEND CLICKED
Time: 10:48 AM
Status: Immediate Regret
Brain: Why did we say “initiated”? Who are we trying to impress?
Heart: They’re judging us. I can feel it.
Body: I need a nap after this emotional trauma.

Heart: They’re disappointed.
Body: Or… they have a life?
Time: 11:03 AM
Still no reply
Heart (softly): Maybe… maybe someone else would understand us better.
Brain: Who?
Heart: I don’t know… that person I told you about earlier.
Body: The imaginary one?
Heart: Don’t call them imaginary. They feel real.
Brain: We don’t even know them.
Heart: But what if they know us?
Body: I know one thing.
Brain: What?
Body: I’m hungry.
