Body: No.
Brain: Wake up. Be different today.
Heart: Check their profile.


Brain: We said we won’t do this first thing.
Heart: Just one check.
Body: This is now muscle memory.


Time: 9:01 AM
Instagram opened without resistance


Brain: We didn’t even brush yet.
Heart: Priorities.
Body: Hygiene is optional. Apparently.


Profile opened.


Heart: No new post…
Brain: GOOD. Close it. Move on.
Heart: Why does that feel… empty?
Body: Because we woke up for this.


Time: 9:06 AM
Still on profile


Brain: We’ve seen everything here.
Heart: Not everything.
Body: We’ve seen enough to skip work.


Scrolling old posts again…


Baby chameleon 🦎 post re-opened


Heart (softly): “Trying to blend in, still feeling seen…”
Brain: You’ve quoted this 17 times now.
Heart: It still feels new.
Body: It still looks like a tiny lizard.


Time: 9:18 AM
Getting ready in real world. Living in imaginary one.


Heart: What if they noticed we liked their post?
Brain: It’s been a day. They didn’t react.
Heart: Maybe they saw… and stayed silent.
Body: Maybe they don’t care.


Silence.


Heart: That hurt.
Brain: That’s reality.
Body: That’s expected.


Time: 10:02 AM
At desk. Work open. Mind not.


Brain: Today we break the pattern. Work first.
Heart: Just check once. Then work.
Body: This negotiation never works.


Time: 10:05 AM
Checked again


Brain: Of course.
Heart: Just making sure.
Body: Just wasting time.


Time: 10:22 AM
Sudden realization hits


Brain: Wait.
Heart: What?
Body: If this is about work, I’m not interested.


Brain: We’re doing the same thing. Every day.
Heart: It feels different every time.
Brain: But it’s not. Same posts. Same checks. Same thoughts.
Body: Same tiredness.


Silence.


Heart: But it makes me feel something.
Brain: Even if it’s one-sided?
Heart: Even if it’s imagined.
Body: Even if it’s exhausting.


Time: 11:10 AM
Work still untouched


Brain: This is becoming a loop.
Heart: This is becoming a comfort.
Body: This is becoming a problem.


Heart (quietly): What if we stop?
Brain: Good idea.
Heart: …but what if I miss them?
Body: You can’t miss what you never had.


Heart: That doesn’t feel true.
Brain: That doesn’t feel good either.


Time: 12:00 PM
Staring at screen. Not scrolling. Not working. Just thinking.


Brain: We need control back.
Heart: I don’t want to lose this feeling.
Body: I don’t want this feeling.


Time: 12:18 PM
Phone kept face down. Small resistance.


Heart: Just one more check…
Brain: No.
Body: Let’s see who wins.


Silence… for a few seconds longer than usual.


Heart (soft): This feels strange.
Brain: This is what normal feels like.
Body: This feels… empty.

  • Emotional Dependency: High 📈

  • Control: Trying… barely

  • Reality vs Imagination: Still Blurred
