Just Google It - How to Be Confident (Without Panicking) - Part 3

The problem today was not sleep.

Not alarms.
Not water.
Not even Google (for once).

The problem… was people.

Riya stood outside the office gate, staring at the glass doors like they might personally reject her.

Inside: colleagues talking, laughing, typing confidently like they all knew what they were doing in life.

Outside: Riya.

Holding her bag.

Holding her breath.

Holding zero confidence.

She slowly took out her phone.

Of course.

Search: “How to be confident at work instantly”

She cracked her knuckles.

“Okay. Today… I become a new person.”

Tip 1: Walk Like You Own the Room 🚶‍♀️

Riya nodded.

“Yes. Strong entry. Powerful energy.”

She straightened her posture.

Lifted her chin.

And walked in like she owned the building.

Two steps later—

She walked straight into the glass door.

THUD.

Everyone turned.

Someone whispered, “It’s push… not pull.”

Riya smiled.

A very painful smile.

“Confident people don’t feel pain,” she told herself.

And walked in again.

This time correctly.

Tip 2: Maintain Eye Contact 👀

“Eye contact shows confidence.”

Riya chose her first target.

Rahul from her team.

He looked up.

She looked straight into his eyes.

Didn’t blink.

Didn’t look away.

Rahul shifted in his chair.

“…Do you need something?”

Riya continued staring.

“No.”

Five seconds.

Ten seconds.

Fifteen seconds.

Rahul blinked rapidly.

“…Okay…”

Finally, Riya turned away.

“Perfect,” she whispered.

“Very natural.”

Tip 3: Speak Clearly and Boldly 🗣️

Time: Team meeting.

Worst possible timing.

Best possible opportunity.

Her manager looked around.

“Anyone has updates?”

Silence.

Riya’s heart started beating like a drum concert.

“This is it,” she thought.

“Confident people speak.”

She raised her hand.

Too fast.

Too aggressively.

“Yes, Riya?” her manager asked.

All eyes turned.

Every. Single. Eye.

She stood up.

Opened her mouth.

Closed it.

Opened it again.

“Y-yes… I just wanted to say…”

Her brain left the chat.

“…good morning.”

Silence.

Her manager blinked.

“…It is already afternoon.”

“Y-yes,” she nodded confidently.

“Just… making sure.”

She sat down.

Very slowly.

Very carefully.

Like her dignity might break if she moved too fast.

Tip 4: Believe in Yourself 🌟

Riya took a deep breath.

Closed her eyes.

“I am confident. I am powerful. I am—”

Her manager’s voice cut in:

“Riya, can you present your update?”

Her eyes snapped open.

“…No,” she whispered internally.

But out loud?

“YES.”

Too loud.

She walked to the front.

Every step echoing.

Every step regretted.

She opened her laptop.

Hands shaking.

Mind blank.

Soul missing.

“This is easy,” she told herself.

“Just speak clearly.”

She looked at the screen.

Then at everyone.

Then back at the screen.

“Okay,” she began.

“This… is… um…”

Her file wasn’t opening.

Of course.

Technology also chose violence today.

She clicked again.

Nothing.

Clicked harder.

Still nothing.

She smiled nervously.

“Small technical confidence issue,” she said.

Someone laughed.

Not loudly.

But enough.

Riya’s soul officially left the building.

Aftermath

She sat back at her desk.

Staring at her screen.

Replaying every moment.

Every word.

Every “good morning”.

Slowly… she picked up her phone.

Search:
“How to recover after embarrassing yourself at work”

She read the first line:

👉 “Remember, people are too busy thinking about themselves to notice your mistakes.”

Riya looked around.

Rahul glanced at her and smiled.

Her manager whispered something to another colleague.

Someone giggled.

“…They noticed,” she said.

She sighed.

Then leaned back.

“Okay Google,” she whispered,

“Confidence… maybe not instant.”

She paused.

Then added—

“…But we will try again.”

Because no matter how many times it went wrong…

She still believed—

👉 The next search might fix everything.
